What type of Trusts does Apple FCU accept?
At this time, we can only accept Revocable Living Trusts.

Does Apple FCU offer estate accounts?
No, Apple does not currently offer estate accounts.

Can my IRA be retitled in the name of my Trust?
No, you cannot put your IRA in a Trust while you are living. However, you can name the Trust as the beneficiary.

I already have a completed Power of Attorney created, why do I have to complete Apple's Power of Attorney Verification form?
The verification form is completed by the Agent named in the Power of Attorney document. It does not grant any powers but is used to verify the Agent and add their account as the POA.

I do not want my account at Apple FCU retitled in my Trust, but would like the funds to be part of my Trust upon my death. Can I do this?
You can name the Trust as the beneficiary on your Apple FCU account. Please note, a joint owner with rights of survivorship will supersede any Payable on Death designation.

This is an arrangement between a financial institution and a member that designates a beneficiary to claim funds in the member's account. The beneficiary is not considered a joint owner and can only access the account in the event of the death of the member. Beneficiaries can be added to individual or all accounts.

To add a beneficiary to your account, complete and return the Payable on Death Account Agreement, along with a copy of your photo ID, to:

Apple will not assist in preparing Trust documentation, and we encourage you to seek legal advice first. Once you have all documentation from your attorney, please complete the Account for a Revocable Living Trust form.

We can accept either a Certificate of Trust document or the following paperwork: copy of the Trust pages, title page with name of the Trust, names of trustees/beneficiaries and notarized signature page.

You will need copies of identification for all current acting trustees (driver's license, passport or other form of government I.D.).

A Power of Attorney (POA) is a legal document where one person (the principle) grants authority to another person (agent or attorney-in-fact) the ability to act on their behalf. This authorization can be for broad range of actions or a specific task.

A POA is valid only during the lifetime of the member, or until revoked by him or her.
