Apple FCU’s Awarding $70,000 Through Our FinTastic Funding Initiative
In celebration of our 70th anniversary, we’re giving away four prizes totaling $70,000 to eligible small businesses across Northern Virginia and beyond through FinTastic Funding.
Got a bold vision for your business? We’re investing $70,000 directly into the next generation of small businesses with four prize offerings:
- Platinum Prize: $25,000
- Gold Place: $20,000
- Silver Place: $15,000
- Bronze Place: $10,000
FinTastic Funding is a Shark Tank-style pitch competition designed to fuel local entrepreneurs, small businesses and nonprofits. If you’ve got a story to tell and a plan to grow, we want to hear from you!

How Does FinTastic Funding Work?
In our second year of FinTastic Funding, we’re continuing to do what Apple FCU does best: investing in people with passion, innovation and commitment to the community. This pitch competition is open to small businesses, entrepreneurs and nonprofits across our service area that are ready to scale up.
Stage 1: Applications

Submit Your 90-Second Video Pitch
This is your opportunity to give a show-stopping elevator pitch. Highlight your vision, growth plans and community contributions. Make it creative and share your story!

Share Your Business Plan
Next, you’ll break down the numbers. Provide business info, market analysis and financial projections.

Tell Us About Your Community Impact
We want to support businesses who care about our community. How will your business impact our region and our communities for the better?
This is your moment. Show us your passion. Share your story. Make it count. But don’t wait too long! Applications will close July 1.
Stage 2: Evaluation
Our panel of judges will evaluate pitches based on:
- A clear and feasible business plan
- Financial sustainability
- Innovation and growth potential
- Team expertise and passion
- Positive community impact.
Finalists will be announced Monday, August 17.
Stage 3: Public Voting
Once finalists are selected by our judges, online voting will open to the public to help determine the winners. Public voting closes Thursday, September 10.
Stage 4: Winners are Announced
The four FinTastic Funding winners will be announced on AppleFCU.org and across our social media channels the week of September 30. They will receive the prizes by October 15.
